At WG Safety, we provide assessments using a unique fire risk assessment methodology, which combines the requirements of BSI PAS 79 with each relevant Article of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, or Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and BS9999, where necessary. This ensures we cover all bases in our fire risk assessment practices.
As part of our fire risk assessments, we will review significant changes since the previous assessment, as well as determining any previous fire incident history. One vital aspect of fire safety that has come to light within recent years is assessing the building construction materials, and the measures to limit any fire spread and the means of escape, including lighting and signage. We will look at the provision of fire detection systems such as alarms, as well as extinguishing/suppression systems. We will also carry out testing and maintenance of fire protection measures.
We will look into risks such as the presence of ignition sources and the nature of combustible materials, sources of heat, friction and their control. Furthermore, we will assess the segregation and storage of hazardous substances, and their proximity to neighbouring or major hazard sites.
We will ascertain the occupancy of the building and the categories of people potentially at risk, and look into the overall management of fire safety, including responsibilities and the provision of fire safety training.
Once we have carried out our fire risk assessments, we will provide you with a clear and concise action plan summary, outlining all the technical details in the main body of the report. Your report will also be available on our cloud server indeterminately, so you will always have access to a copy. Get in touch today to find out more about our fire risk assessments.
